A lot of wedding sites give suggestions for Scripture verses to incorporate into your wedding. While there is nothing wrong with this, I am not going to offer specific Bible verses for you. Instead, I am going to suggest that you pray and ask God to show you how He defines your wedding and marriage.
This is what my husband and I did. God answered in a pretty ironic way.

Sometime a few years ago, I picked up a card which has my name, “Elizabeth,” the meaning of my name, “Consecrated to God,” and a verse, “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6.” I love that card and it has been on my refrigerator ever since I got it.
While planning our wedding, we prayed for direction for the verse or verses that defined us and would guide us beyond our wedding day. One night we were looking for something at my husband’s house and a card fell out of a book which said on it, “David, Beloved, In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6.” I got goose bumps when I read it.
This verse pretty much sums up both of our lives. Since being born again, we have both relied totally on His leading. We know that God joined us together as we were the last to realize how we felt about each other. To quote his daughter when he told her, “Dad, sometimes you can be really clueless.”
We made this verse the theme for not only our wedding but our marriage as well. It may not have been a flowery romantic verse and that’s okay. I’m pretty sure it hasn’t been used in a lot of other weddings and that’s okay too. I don’t know what other people thought of it and I really don’t care. Our wedding was not about image or being picture perfect. It was a spiritual union and an act of obedience as much as an act of love for each other.
A large part of the joy of following Christ is basking in the wonder of His dreams for us, His identity for us and His plans for us. What better way to highlight that than by letting Him choose His word for us.
