Principle #7 – Bargains Are Your Friend

I paid $99 for my wedding dress. It was a $600 DaVinci that had been a floor model. Because I bought it off the rack, I got a bargain. I spent more to have it altered than I did for the dress. My wedding ring was an $800 set on clearance for $120. Our gifts for our wedding party were purchased on sale with an additional instant coupon so we paid $60 for over $300 worth of merchandise.

Lots of people recommend buying lower quality items to save money. To me, that is the last resort. I first look for the highest quality I can find on clearance. Remember, the only thing missing from a sale item is the high price. Plenty of women wore the exact same dress I did – they just paid $501 more for it!

Liz About Liz

After getting married in 2008, I realized how much I loved planning the wedding, making the invitations, flowers and decorations. Marrying my love for the internet with my love for all things bridal and floral was a natural fit. The end result is this website. When I'm not writing about weddings, you will probably find me in my garden or reading the latest Christian fiction book.
